Shinji Konishi Hairhats

This may be 2 years old, but let me say...This is still some piece of work. The hairhats from Shinji Konishi are beautiful and whimsical. Never ever think something is old! Sometimes you can find some little gems again and inspire someone! No need for more words, this just makes my day.

Thierry Mugler Meets Zombie Boy

We all know zombie boy (The Muse of Mugler), also known as Rick Genest, from the Lady Gaga music video for 'Born This Way' and his collaboration with Thierry Mugler.

Before all of this, he was also famous for being a star attraction of a freak show circus on the outskirts of Montréal. Can you imagine? Yes I can! I would have loved to see him there, as he played the mortal sin of sloth! (here comes my skull fascination again..sorry). And how was he discovered you might think? No guesses here, the god of all gods! Facebook! A fan page was created about a year ago named 'I bet this guy will regret getting this tattoo once he's older!!' (Yes I do ask myself that though..) and this page reached 1,526,224 members! My god, Let's hope my page will get those many nosy people ^_^. Nicola Formichetti was mesmerized by his appearance, and saw something else in him other then a circus 'freak'. come on, no one is normal! We're all 'freaks'. Be happy!

A magical and raw video that was created by Creative Director Nicola Formichetti, a well known name in the fashion industry! He also was responsible for the 'styling' of the Men's-wear collection for Mugler fashion Show, held in Paris. Nicola has also been busy styling and directing most of Lady Gaga's shows, videos and performances (including her artistic appearance)

Keep your little eye, or both, on this talented gift from above (or his mom, or dad, maybe both..), because Nicola is going to create more visual 'art' for our eyes to feast upon!

Designs Lleta

I love skulls you know, and unicorns, deers, bows, robots and so on (not really relevant is it?) Anyway!

Even though I have been designing jewelry for 5 years, I always seem to have too little time... too little time to make something for myself. So here you go, design by Lleta, and executed by my lovely friend in China, Jay! Not intended for a real collection, more for fun ^_^

Castelbajac's Über Tropikal Airlines

Much love for JCDC' SS11 collection. Playful with a twist as always. I have been following him for some years, and still dreaming of the 'Creditcard dress' from the Spring 2009 collection. But maybe I need to revise that dream? Don't you think?

His inspiration is as clear as the skies he was flying in, when he was enjoying a nice tequila sunrise (just imagining), to probably some nice tropical resort. And there is only one person who can come up with a collection so imaginative, and that is Jean Charles De Castelbajac! The use of the same basic colors in almost every collection always seem different. Bright yellows, cobalt blue's, bright red's and grass greens are a must! I would almost miss it, if it weren't there.

You can see the story behind the collection, and that makes it an easy-and-fun to watch collection. From the comfortable flight, to a crash in the middle of an unknown Tropikal jungle and the journey of trying to find your way out, while the animals around you are keeping a close watch. Everything you will need and meet during this adventure, Castelbajac used and made it fashion! Perfectly portrayed and wearable at the same time.

Details I do love, Felix The Cat and the Eiffel Tower.

Please Play With Your Food Dimitri!

Russian Sculptor Dimitri Tsykalov must have learned NOT to play with his food, but as it turned out, he decided to do it anyway after he moved to Nogent-sur-Marne outside of Paris. Even though he put out allot of other objects, I do like these the most. He saw something different in all the fruits and vegetables he ate, and made it into eatable art, or art you can eat, you pick.

And do note, if you are wondering who was responsible for Lady Gaga's 'Meat Dress'? Now you know! Dimitri also 'played' with some uncooked meat, and found a whole other way to send environmental messages like, inhumane animal treatment, food waste and world hunger.

He didn't make it to last, but we don't mind. And as they say: 'Take a picture why don't ya! It lasts longer..'

Comme Des Garcons Is Sneaking Around

"The Beatles Comme Des Garcons" is the collaboration line with Apple Corps Ltd., which is the corporation founded by The Beatles. And from that this little baby was born..

The white "Spring Court" kick comes with The Beatles logo and their signature record label green apple. For the people who remember, John Lennon is wearing the famous "Spring Court" shoes on the cover of "Abbey Road".

I can imagine (get it? Imagine!...lame I know) that these are going to go fast, so get yours now on Clif's Edge! For men and women!

Alexander McQueen... Savage Beauty

This is one extra reason to buy that ticket to New York! A new exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, organized by The Costume Institute. A celebration of the late Alexander McQueen's extraordinary contributions to fashion.

In this exhibition you will have the opportunity to see more than 100 pieces of Alexander McQueen's collections over the years, from his postgraduate collection of 1992 to his final runway presentation which took place after his death in February 2010 (who will ever forget this show, no words to describe this...). Dates? Yes I have those too! May 4 - July 31, 2011.

One of the most talented designers I have ever seen. He put out collections that were no less than perfect (if that's even possible), almost not of this world. The great influences from Koji Tatsuno and Romeo Gigli, should not be forgotten in this case! He got his first chance to put out a collection with Givenchy (after John Galliano left).

"McQueen's work fits easily in the discourse of art. He can be considered no less than a great artist," said Thomas Campbell, director of the museum.

The exhibition is made possible by Alexander McQueen™
