This is one extra reason to buy that ticket to New York! A new exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, organized by The Costume Institute. A celebration of the late Alexander McQueen's extraordinary contributions to fashion.
In this exhibition you will have the opportunity to see more than 100 pieces of Alexander McQueen's collections over the years, from his postgraduate collection of 1992 to his final runway presentation which took place after his death in February 2010 (who will ever forget this show, no words to describe this...). Dates? Yes I have those too! May 4 - July 31, 2011.
One of the most talented designers I have ever seen. He put out collections that were no less than perfect (if that's even possible), almost not of this world. The great influences from Koji Tatsuno and Romeo Gigli, should not be forgotten in this case! He got his first chance to put out a collection with Givenchy (after John Galliano left).
"McQueen's work fits easily in the discourse of art. He can be considered no less than a great artist," said Thomas Campbell, director of the museum.
The exhibition is made possible by Alexander McQueen™
