Ronit Baranga's Bodyparts

Weird? Yes! Do I love it? Yes! Do you love it? You should!

Ronit Baranga made me stare at my screen for some hours (okay, okay! minutes), but still it felt like hours. Fascinated and creep-ed out at the same time, and both these emotions are my favorite.
Baranga studied Psychology and Hebrew Literature but art turned out to be her calling. After realizing this, she started the Art studies at Bet Berl College and continued at Yael Shkedi’s silver and gold craft school.

After finishing these studies she started creating these beautiful sculptures, that are some kind of strange. They are unexplainable creatures drawn out of the unknown, and with 'the unknown' I mean Ronit's very very creative mind. You do get my attention when you create something I get 'that feeling' with, the feeling that you have when you are in the same room as always, but the light, music or darkness give you a different kind of feeling, like you're in a whole other 'world. And I like that feeling!
Ronit captured the right balance between craftsmanship and a vivid imagination. The peaces have a theme that you don't usually see when not connected to the rest. Hands and mouths detached from the human appearance, and melted into a cup with fingers, mouths placed inside cups or on a perfect made plate, lovely vintage rings, inspired by the old perfume bottles, suffocated by spider like webs like you found it in your great great grandmothers attic after many years. With the attention of never loosing it, and tying the fingers together.

Baranga created this 'Brace necklace', explaining that the brace restricts the body, but at the same time reaches out to touch its surroundings...
